How Ocean View Hotel compares with the real Clevelander
The Clevelander is one of the best-known Art Deco hotels on Ocean Drive, the strip of 1930s hotels that faces the beach and Lummus Park in South Beach. Its pool bar is a fixture of the street, and like its neighbours it turns into a wall of neon and music once the sun goes down.
In Rockstar's screenshot, the Ocean View Hotel takes the Clevelander's spot in Vice City's version of Ocean Drive. Rockstar shows it at night, with its sign glowing pink behind a police car, and the Hotel Dixon sign lit up next door. The real photo is a daytime view along the same kind of street, so drag the slider to see the strip both ways.
The name is a nod to Rockstar's own history: the Ocean View Hotel was Tommy Vercetti's first safehouse in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City back in 2002. Fans matched the building to the Clevelander, but Rockstar has not said so itself.
Community matchRockstar has not said which real places it based Ocean View Hotel on. This match comes from GTA 6 Map trailer locations guide, and the photos show the same kind of view rather than the exact same spot. Every word above is our own.
