How Stockyard compares with the real Wynwood

Wynwood was a district of warehouses and garment factories north of downtown Miami until artists and galleries moved in. Since the Wynwood Walls opened in 2009, almost every surface in the neighbourhood has been painted, and the murals change so often that a photo from a few years ago, like the one above, is already a piece of history.

Rockstar named Stockyard in its GTA 6 edition details, and fans compare it to Wynwood. Rockstar has not said where its mural screenshot was taken, but it is the closest official picture of that kind of place, so we have paired it here: huge painted faces and swirls on concrete pillars, a lowrider in pale blue and a crowd of riders on bikes and quads. It is the same mix of graffiti, street life and industrial bones that Wynwood is known for.

The setting is where Rockstar changes things. In the game, the murals cover the pillars of an elevated road, with traffic rumbling overhead, while Wynwood's best-known walls are on the sides of its low warehouses. The art itself is Rockstar's own, not copies of real Wynwood pieces.

Community matchRockstar has not said which real places it based Stockyard on. This match comes from The Games Wiki (GTA 6), and the photos show the same kind of view rather than the exact same spot. Every word above is our own.
